Oh, God, she felt so awful. She remembered how betrayed and hurt she’d felt when she’d found out her previous boyfriend had slept with someone else. Holly had hated that woman and now Kalen’s girlfriend had every reason to hate Holly. Even though Holly hadn’t known she was cheating.

“Have a good talk with your sister?” Kalen asked. He was sitting on the couch in front of the fire, sipping his steaming hot chocolate.

Oh, God, why did he have to be so sexy? And why did her heart have to accelerate every time she got near him?

“Yeah, thanks.”

Christmas music played in the background. Sunlight, glistening on the icy snow outside, streamed through the windows.

“Do you like playing games?”

“What?” Holly asked.

“Board games. Or cards. I found some in the cupboard.”

“Oh, I love games.”

She and June used to play all the time. Holly and June had pulled Tom into their love of game-playing and so they had quite a collection at the cabin. She walked to the cupboard and grabbed one of the longer strategy board games.

If they played a game, their conversation would be focused on that rather than each other. Or what had happened between them.

She carried the box to the dining room and began setting it up. Kalen disappeared, then returned with a steaming cup.

“Here’s that hot chocolate.” He smiled as he set it in front of her and her heart constricted.

Damn. Why did he have to be so considerate?

They played for a couple of hours, starting a second game once they’d finished the first. Despite her unhappiness with Kalen, sitting across from him kept her heart pitter-pattering. She couldn’t forget their sensational lovemaking earlier. The feel of his big cock gliding inside her.

Thoughts of climbing under the table and freeing that big member, then taking it in her mouth again, had her pulse practically vibrating.

But he was with another woman and no matter how much she wanted to be with him, she would not betray his girlfriend.

Holly sank into the game, trying her best to forget about the tension between them. And she almost succeeded.

“It looks like you won,” Kalen said as they tallied up their victory points at the end of the second game.
